Position Overview
Ultimate Staffing is actively seeking an experienced PCBA Technician to join their client's dedicated team in California. This role involves the assembly and testing of printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) to ensure they meet quality standards and support manufacturing objectives. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining production efficiency and product reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble printed circuit board assemblies using through-hole, SMT, and mixed-technology components.
- Perform hand soldering, rework, and repair to IPC standards.
- Operate and maintain assembly equipment such as pick-and-place, reflow ovens, wave solder, AOI, and X-ray as applicable.
- Read and interpret schematics, bill of materials (BOMs), work instructions, and assembly drawings.
- Conduct visual inspections and functional tests to verify product quality.
- Troubleshoot assembly issues and identify root causes of defects.
- Document work performed, inspections, rework, and test results.
- Follow ESD, safety, and cleanroom procedures as required.
- Support continuous improvement activities and process optimization.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams to resolve production issues.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in PCB or electronic assembly (experience level may vary by role).
- Proficiency in hand soldering and desoldering techniques.
- Ability to read and understand schematics and technical documentation.
- Familiarity with IPC standards (IPC-A-610, IPC-7711/7721 preferred).
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Required Work Hours
Monday through Friday, 1st Shift
Benefits
